June 25th Standings

The group stages are over and it finished with a bang. Marc Cousineau...once again, got 3 out of the 4 scores correctly- earning him an amazing 9 points- giving him a 4 point lead above second place. I tallied up everyone's scores on paper to see if they match the scoreboard. Everyone's matches except for Matt Cousineau, who actually has 35 points. Today he earned 5 points, so it would put him up 31- but when I tallied all his points, it actually is 35. I must have made a mistake along the way when inputing his points on the blog. Anyways, here are the standings!

Tomorrow the round of 16 starts. Here is a reminder of how it's going to work.
1. If you get one team in the correct spot- its 1 point.
2. If you get both teams correctly- its 2 points.
3. If you choose the correct winner, its 1 point.
4. If you get the correct score, it is an extra 2 points.

So altogether, you can get a total of 5 points per game if you chose the correct teams to play each other.

1. If you chose one team right and the other team wrong, you don't have the chance of getting the correct score- since you didn't choose both teams correctly. You would only get 1 point.
However, if you choose the correct winner- I will give you the point.

Example: You have chosen France v.s South Korea. You have earned one point for one correct team. If you choose South Korea to win, and they do win- then I will give you another point since you chose them to advance. Even if you put 2-1 in your France v.s South Korea game, and it turns out being 2-1 for South Korea against Uruguay- you won't get the score points.

Whew! Another question some of you guys might have is this!
Some of you guys have England v.s Germany playing in your pool- but in the wrong positions (England being first in their group and Germany being second).
You will not be awarded the points for getting them in the right spot. However, if you chose England to win in this game- you will get the point. AND- if you guess the correct score, you will also get the extra two points.
The reason for this is because you still have the game happening in your pool- just not in the right spot- so therefore you don't get the points for having them advance in the correct position- but you still have the opportunity to get points in the game.

If you guys have any questions, please feel free to ask me!
Nobody guessed the games games happening tomorrow would happen. But some people will still get points for guessing the right teams in the right spot! We shall seeee!

Good luck!
